Hosa Runners, where have you been? Well, we have not been anywhere. The world seems to be in chaos and my bubble of NW Arkansas seems to be safe. So, we have stayed in our safe zone these last few months. Yes, we still run. Yes, we still eat Low-carb paleo.

Lucky for us our lives have not changed much and even if it had we would have just rolled with it because that is what we do. My family is flexible and willing to help whenever the need arises. Which makes everything so much better.
Really the only things that have changed are the lack of races and not taking the kids to the park. I have started to miss races, but Josh has missed them this entire time. He thrives on the energy of the start line. He loves the competition and the feeling of being an athlete. I on the other hand like to race every once in a while so that I can test the skills I have been working on.

There are a few races that we are working on at the moment, but they will not come to fruition until next year. The biggest race of my life will be March 19-21. Yes, you read that right, 3 days. It is one run a day. First the 50k, then the 50 miler, and last the 20k. It will be the first 50 miler for me. Which by the way I have always said I would never do, but what’s 18 more miles then my normal 50K???

Before that, we currently have one smaller race. It’s called Athens Big Fork Trail Marathon and 17 miler. I am doing the 17 miler. Josh is doing the marathon. Let me tell you, it’s not just any marathon, it’s one of the hardest marathons I’ve ever heard of and participated in. If you are going to do it you must be Mountain ready. The ascents and descents are wicked.
I’m hoping that there will be more races opening up this year because in about a month I’ll be ready to go. My miles have been slacking due to my lack of summer heat enjoyment. Don’t get me wrong, I love the summer, I just don’t like running in the humid Arkansas heat. It sucks the life right out of me, leaving me a boneless puddle. Fall and winter are my favorite times to stretch my legs and run all the miles.

So there you have it “The Hosa Runners Update”. Just in case you were wondering. Now you can take a deep breath and feel relieved that our whole family is well and good, just doing life in these trying times.
Happy to hear you and your family are well!
